I bought my RX-7 in 1998.  It is a 1995 model (the last year RX-7s were imported to the U.S.).  It is a R2 package (race version - different springs, dual oil coolers, suede leather).  There were only 23 red R2s imported in 1995.

 

Over the years, I have modified my 7 towards better performance.  Here is a list of modifications:

On a DynoJet dyno, the 7 has put down as much as 456 rwhp / 352 rwtq.

To date, my best time at the drag strip has been a 7.37 1/8th mile (11.40 1/4 mile).  I think with some boost built at the line, 6's in the 1/8th mile (10's in 1/4 mile) are obtainable.  These runs were at 17 psi on pump gas.  I plan on tuning to 21 psi soon.
